A Visual Guide to US Incomes (and Inequality) by State

So, I rarely post on Saturdays anymore, but I came across this interesting infographic from and thought I'd share it. It shows some things everyone already knows (like that the Southeast is the poorest part of the US), but it also shows some interesting tidbits, particularly which states have the highest proportion of relatively wealthy people.

The states with the highest proportions of wealthy people are DC, MD, and VA (in large part because of government contractors, I'd guess), as well as CT and NJ (states that are slowly turning into the suburbs where NYC's rich people live).
